Justin Wearne

Principal Consultant

Justin has worked as a management consultant for the last 27 years.

His specialisation is developing business strategy, communications and marketing plans for industrial and technology companies, and identifying growth opportunities.

Prior to launching JWPM Consulting in 1993, Justin was Group Manager Marketing for ATCO Industries, a prefabricated building manufacturer supplying workforce accommodation for resource companies and for international organisations including the United Nations.

Prior to ATCO Justin worked in a variety of Advertising and Marketing roles including Advertising and Marketing Manager for the Adelaide Casino and Account Manager Cato Johnson (the sales promotion arm of Young & Rubicam).

Over 27 years Justin has delivered consulting projects to engineering firms, component suppliers, State and Local Governments, manufacturers, services companies and contractors working at board level or advising management.

Justin’s core strength is understanding technology across a wide range of disciplines and industries combined with extensive experience with business to business (b2b) sales, marketing, business structures and operations.

In 2007, Justin launched a Telecommunications start-up called Red Button Technologies, a critical comms system aimed at the personal emergency alert market. The company secured a Federal Government Grant, and $500,000 in venture capital from a Melbourne based IT company. The company secured both Australian and US patents for its core technology.

Greg Tunny


Greg Tunny (a former CEO of the Australian Submarine Corporation) is a dynamic, innovative and outcomes focused senior businessman. He has led the profitable growth of technology & infrastructure oriented project, product and customer support businesses operating in Australia and internationally.

Greg has 30 years of diverse experience winning business and delivering customer solutions, in Australia and internationally, including; China, UK, Middle East and South East Asia. He has experience in defence & aerospace, information technology & software, shipbuilding/marine, advanced manufacturing, water infrastructure, industrial and medical devices sectors. Greg has experience with large organisations, entrepreneurial SMEs and start-ups.

He has led a range of initiatives including: new ventures; new generation facilities and Lean manufacturing; product development and management; export sales and delivery of large technology projects/products; and technology transfer.

Greg’s past positions in industry include: business consulting and CEO/CTO roles with, Leed Engineering and Construction Pty Ltd (Civil Contracting), Chief Executive Officer, Australian Submarine Corporation Ltd, Chief Executive Officer, Thales Air Traffic Management Pty Ltd, Managing Director Australia & Asia, ADI /Thales Australia, Director Business Development & Strategy and also General Manager Systems & Software, Vipac Engineers & Scientists Pty Ltd in several roles, the last as Manager NSW.

Joanne Koehne


Joanne is a marketing and project management specialist with a strong background and capability in B2B professional consulting services. She has a strong grounding in a commercial services environment, supporting organisational business development and sales objectives.

A conceptual thinker, Joanne is able to quickly grasp issues of critical relevance, to analyse industry dynamics and competitive positioning, and to develop a strategic company response.

She has high-level writing and editing skills in the development of various marketing communication materials, and has particularly specialised in recent years in the development of tender proposals and other formal responses to market across industries, including energy and resources; projects, construction and infrastructure; telecommunications, manufacturing and health.

Joanne brings disciplined project management skills and experience to the team with a demonstrated ability working within highly specialised and technical fields of expertise, with multiple stakeholders.

Vici is a seasoned digital marketing professional having worked in digital marketing roles for the last 10 years in Australia and for 8 years in South Africa.

With over 18 years digital marketing experience, Vici introduces a unique strategic and creative perspective to digital projects whether it be digital marketing, SEO, website development or social media.

Steve Gross

Senior Web Developer

Born and bred in Philadelphia USA, Steve is a unique combination of IT professional and marketer. Steve brings to JWPM extensive international experience in the latest digital marketing techniques having managed a team of 15+ marketing specialists creating and executing Direct Mail, Email, Social Media, SEO/SEM, Text Message and Pay-Per-Click campaigns for small and mid-sized businesses.

He is an experienced web developer with SQL Server database skills. He has worked as a Marketing Operations Manager, IT Manager and worked in aftermarket performance automotive parts and servicing. He has a BA Majoring in Psychology and is Google Adwords Certified.

Steve brings a range of digital & direct marketing specialist skills to JWPM including; In-depth knowledge of Email marketing systems & custom HTML email design, HTML5 responsive web design across all devices, animated digital ads, integration of analytics packages, skilled user of Social Media Platforms for B2B and B2C marketing purposes, digital event management, Google Adwords campaigns & ad design, graphic design for web & print, direct mail campaigns, branding, stationary, marketing collateral design and layout.

Steve has worked with many large clients such as AAA America, NAPA Automotive, Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestone, ATI, Sysco Foods, Epsilon, CokeSolutions, Elite Worldwide, RestaurantOwner.com, and many small to mid sized businesses in the US, Europe and Canada.

Brett Cowan


Brett has a long suit in IT consulting, IT project delivery and transformation, business development and team building.

Brett has a broad exposure to many industries including Investment Banking, Securities Trading, State Government, Local Council, Federal Transport, Airlines, Mining, Manufacturing, Finance, Insurance, and Engineering.

He holds Bachelor Degrees in Engineering (Manufacturing Systems) and Business Management.

Working in commerce and industry, Brett has encouraged, motivated, and directed teams through proactive leadership.

Brett has extensive experience as a Test and Delivery Manager, managing Retail Website projects, and worked in IT as a Developer and Architect, Test Management and Delivery Management, worked extensively with both PRINCE II and Agile Scrum – and is a Certified Scrum Master.

He has led a department of over 100 (12 direct reports), directly managed delivery teams of over 50 people, and has been responsible for the design and transformation of teams, strategies and processes in 6 major global companies.

Brett’s career is broad, showing aspects of Engineering (building Australia's first DVD factory in Sydney in 1996), Sales and Business Development (establishment of the Brisbane and Australian offices of two organisations and achieving over $500k per month turnover within 12 months for each of them, and lifting the revenue of a forklift company in Singapore from $480k p.a. to $4.8M p.a. in the space of 18 months), Technology (as the eBusiness Technical Architect for Swiss Reinsurance Company in 2002), and Services Transformation.

He has worked with companies such as Credit Suisse, Caterpillar, RPData and Virgin Australia to project manage implementation of internal services, utilising both offshore and in-house delivery approaches.

Brett has Expert Witness experience, offering opinions on large multinational cases, and has performed strongly under cross-examination.

Greg Clothier


Our Quality Management Systems advisor, Greg Clothier, has a wealth of experience developed over 20+ years as an in-house quality management system professional. Greg has implemented many integrated systems; developing and maintaining quality management systems to meet certification standards, as well as undertaking both internal and external quality systems audit services across heavy industry, engineering, oil and gas, construction and transport sectors. Greg has also lectured and conducted training in quality management and the fundamentals of internal auditing.

Greg’s broader career has seen him act as a professional manager, business advisor and business development executive heading-up SME organisations, primarily in the engineering sector. He is regarded as a dynamic business leader with a reputation for leading change and revitalising organisations, and has a particular understanding of the challenges faced by industrial organisations.

Greg has served on a number of company and industry committees and boards and has a high profile within the South Australian business community.

Kenneth Ling


Ken has considerable business experience in the Asia Pacific region having worked at a senior level for a diverse group of organisations in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and the USA covering a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, mining, private equity and biomedical.

His areas of expertise cover corporate finance (M&A, restructuring and fund raising), general finance, human resource (HR) management and startup companies.

His previous experience includes Head of Finance and HR for the Asian arm of a large Belgian multinational global leader in industrial minerals, Head of Finance, HR and Innovation for a highly successful medium size family-owned Singapore regional manufacturing company and Commercial Manager at an innovative publicly-listed subterranean pipe rehabilitation company in Adelaide. Ken was also deeply involved with corporate finance having served as Assistant Director in one of Asia's earliest and largest private equity funds.

Driving cultural change and innovation are his special areas of interest and his international experience provides strong insights into identifying company building strategies. He is well connected with the Singapore startup community and in recent years, has personally driven two biomedical projects with leading hospital groups and is responsible for his previous employer successfully receiving the prestigious Co-Investment Partner status with the government's SPRING Seed Capital Fund that invests in deep tech startups. He currently advises a medical/dental e-commerce company as it expands from Singapore to India as well as a lifestyle products startup in Australia.

His formative years were spent in Adelaide after graduating with Bachelor Economics (University of Adelaide). Ken also holds an MBA from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and was a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand for over 25 years.

Belinda Stachowiak


With a comprehensive background in art direction for print, website, digital and social media design for companies in Australia, Finland and England, Belinda is well positioned to deliver effective communication and branding solutions for clients.

Belinda is well versed in working with B2B and B2C clients, having worked for high profile clients such as Nokia, Polar, Toyota, University of South Australia and FORM2000. Belinda mixes inspired design whilst ensuring required consistency in branding application and understanding of the client’s marketing landscape.

With a results orientated approach, Belinda oversees concepts that strategically align with client and campaign objectives. Her range of technical and marketing skills, along with her ability to work with clients and project teams to deliver great outcomes, delivers value to the JWPM team.

Jane Daw


Jane is a trained bean counter from a Chartered Accounting background with more than 25 years’ experience. In the recent past, Jane was a member of the teaching staff at the University of Adelaide, and the University of South Australia, tutoring undergraduate and post-graduate students. Jane's role at JWPM includes financial analysis and modelling. In her spare time she manages the firm's finances and keeps us on the straight and narrow.
